This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Humphries of Bourton-on-the-Water Gloucestershire Yeoman

 

First I give and bequeath to my kinsman Thomas Collett the son of Thomas and Mary Collett to him and his heirs forever all my freehold estate lying in Bourton-on-the-Water as aforesaid consisting of two dwelling houses stables outhouses and garden with all the appurtenances thereto belonging now occupied by myself and Benjamin Whitmore

 

I give and bequeath to my kinsman Thomas Collett the same as above named Four Hundred Pounds of my personal estate

 

I give and bequeath to Mr Kytes’ three daughters Two Hundred Pounds a piece that to say Betsy Kyte, Amy Kyte, Mary Ann Kyte

 

I give and bequeath to John and Robert Hanks the sons of John and Mary Hanks One Hundred Pounds apiece

 

I give and bequeath to William Fox son of John and Elizabeth Fox One Hundred and Fifty Pounds

 

I give and bequeath to Ann Fox daughter of John and Elizabeth Fox One Hundred and Fifty Pounds

 

I give and bequeath to Betty Fox daughter of John and Elizabeth Fox who is now the wife of Philip Green One Hundred and Fifty Pounds

 

I give and bequeath to Richard Fox son of John and Mary Fox One Hundred Pounds

 

I give and bequeath to John ? eldest daughter Mary One Hundred and Fifty Pounds

 

I give and bequeath to Thomas Cook’s eldest son Thomas which he had by his first wife who lived at Stow One Hundred and Fifty Pounds

 

I give and bequeath to John Cook son of William and Mary Cook One Hundred and Fifty Pounds

 

I give and bequeath to Betty Cook daughter of William and Mary Cook who liveth at Slaughter One Hundred and Fifty Pounds

 

I give and bequeath to my sister Sarah Humphries One Hundred and Fifty Pounds the above legacies to be paid by my Executor hereafter named twelve months after my death for the payment of which and my debts and funeral expenses I make my said personal estate chargeable all the rest and residue of my personal estate whatsoever and where so ever except what is above disposed of

I give to my kinsman Richard Fox second son of John and Mary Fox and Elizabeth Fox living at Bourton-on-the-Water whom I nominate and appoint and make my sole executor to this my last Will and Testament dated this 23 day of February 1802

 

Signed sealed published and declared to be the last Will and Testament of the said Testator in the presence of and at his request we sign our names as witnesses hereunto

she being the niece of Robert Humphries

and wife of John Hanks

 

Mary Ann Kyte married Robert Collett (Ref. 14K12)

 

Elizabeth Fox and Mary Cook were Robert Humphries’ sisters
